Idea Description
in the first few years of large-scale marketing of ink jet printers to the public, most printer manufacturers offered a "high end" model that offered a four color process and a "low end" model with a three color process. the sales pitch was that you get "true black" with the four color model, which was true. what would be really neat would be a four color cymk printer that gives me the option (preferably under hardware control :-) of printing a monochrome black-on-white document in my choice of cyan, magenta, yellow, or some combination thereof, such as blue or simulated black. this would be a nice convenience at times when my black cartridge runneth on empty and my print job isn't impression-critical enough to justify dropping everything and going to a store.
